Spring is here and it’s time to hit our local farmers’ markets.

Toronto has a large selection of farmers markets that offer local fruits, veggies and other goodies. Not only can you pick up your weekly groceries, you can also enjoy music performances, face painting for the kids and other fun events!

I have complied a list of 10 Toronto farmers’ markets (in no particular order), for you to scout out.

ORGANIC FARMERS’ MARKET: TORONTO BOTANICAL GARDEN

777 Lawrence Avenue East (Lawrence & Leslie)
 
  • Open Thursdays 2:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Open year round.
  • Free Parking.
  • Notables: Be sure to take advantage of their spectacular garden concerts with various artists.

WYCHWOOD PARK/WYCHWOOD BARNS

76 Wychwood Avenue (St.Clair & Christie)
 
  • Open Saturdays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Open year round.
  • Free Parking.
  • Notables: Known for a great balance of vendors. Bring your travel mug and enjoy some Kurtis coffee!

DUFFERIN GROVE

875 Dufferin Street (Dufferin & Bloor)
 
  • Open Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Open year round.
  • Street Parking.
  • Notables: Known for having some of the best organic vendors.

ST. LAWRENCE MARKET

92- 95 Front St East (Front & Jarvis)
 
  • Open Saturday 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Open year round.
  • Paid lot parking. Click here for parking map.
  • Notables:  On top of all the typical produce items, you can also enjoy fresh juices, peameal bacon sandwiches, crepes and Montreal style bagels!

LESLIEVILLE FARMERS’ MARKET

Jonathan Ashbridge Park (Queen & Coxwell)
 
  •  Open Sunday 9:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m.
  • Free parking in lot directly south of the park on Eastern Avenue and also on Eastern Avenue (south side).
  • Late May – Late October.
  • Notables: Located in an open park, be sure to bring a blanket and soak up some sun or even enjoy an afternoon picnic.

EAST LYNN FARMERS’ MARKET

East Lynn Park (Danforth & Woodbine)
 
  • Open Thursdays 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Open June 5th, 2014 – October 16th, 2014.
  • Street parking.
  • Notables: Open till 7pm so you can even pop by after work! Kids can enjoy the splash pad and playground.

BRICKWORKS FARMERS’ MARKET

550 Bayview Avenue
 
  • Open Saturdays (currently open 9am-1pm,  starting May 3rd, 2014 open from 8am-1pm).
  • Open year round.
  • Paid parking on site.
  • Notables: Ride your bike to avoid finding a parking spot. Lots of great eats, including a delicious cafe. Enjoy the nearby trails for a Saturday stroll or bike ride.

SORAUREN FARMERS’ MARKET

Sorauren Park at 50 Wabash Ave.
 
  • Open Monday 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Open year round
  • Street Parking
  • Notables: Known for their reasonable prices. Operated by the Westend Food Co-op, which you can visit 7 days a week at their store location (1229 Queen St W.)

JUNCTION FARMERS’ MARKET

Junction Train Platform (2960 Dundas St W)
 
  • Open Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • May 24th – November 1, 2014

  • Notables: Features 18 different vendors. Great variety of local, sustainable fresh foods.

TRINITY BELLWOODS FARMERS’ MARKET
