CONCLUSION

Sales were up 1.8%, representing 9,706 transactions. April typically sees the highest number of sales in a given year. If it wasn’t for the lack of supply we would have seen even more transactions. Studies and polling suggest the lack of listings could be tied to homeowners choosing to renovate rather than move.

Prices hit double digit growth, demonstrating a 10.1% increase from April 2013. As the weather improves we can expect many more homes to hit the market – people love to sell with their gardens in bloom. This will favour the buyers, offering more choice, and fewer crazy multiple offers.
