Clearing out your clutter!

Feeling cramped by your clutter? Well…you have come to the right place! I have compiled a list of resources to help you purge and declutter your home. Whether you are looking to rejuvenate your home or are getting your house ready to list on the market, you will be amazed at how purging  your unwanted items can make your home feel instantly refreshed and tidy! So, time to get rid of those old nicknacks and unused items that have collecting dust over the past century!

Where to sell:

Hire Red Coats Moving Solutions: This option is great for those feeling overwhelmed by the accumulation of possessions. Red Coats is a full service company that will help you sell or give away your unwanted items through their network of charities, consignment, estate and antique specialist. Garage Sale: Consider hosting a garage sale. If possible, coordinate with your neighbours and friends to help bring more traction. All you need is some decent weather and price tags for your items and your good to go!
Facebook: This is a easy, quick and free way to sell your unwanted items! Simply capture a picture of your items and post the photos onto your newsfeed. Include a small description with the images –  ie. price, dimensions, wear and tear etc.
Craiglist & Kijiji: A lot of people have great success at buying and selling on Craigslist and Kijiji. You will be dealing with strangers so be weary about where and when you meet people. Post your ad and connect with buyers. Simple!
Condo Display Board: Some condo buildings have a display boards or screens for  building news, events, listings & postings.  Certain buildings have different rules for postings so check with your property manager or concierge.

Where to donate:

Salvation Army / Goodwill: Donating your gently used clothing or household goods is a great “feel good” way to get rid of your clutter!  Before dropping off your items, be sure to check which items they are currently accepting. Habitat for Humanity ReStore: With this program, donated items get re-sold to new home projects. Restore will come to your home and dismantle and/or remove your  gently-used items – free of charge. On top of this, they will give you a tax receipt. Sounds like a no brainer to me! You can read more about this fabulous program here.

Curb It: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure! Try putting your items out on the curb – you might be surprised how fast they get taken away!

Book an appointment, point out your unwanted items and they will give you a quote right on the spot! If you are okay with the price they will remove your items right then and there.
