With the world’s economy being in a bit of a flux lately, it’s comforting to know that Canada is riding this economic uncertainty with confidence, and with good reason!
According to the Legatum Institute’s 2012 prosperity index, Canada scored number 6 in the world! The study considers the wealth and wellbeing of 142 countries based on 8 categories including economic strength, education, personal freedom, and social tolerance.
The USA, on the other hand, did not fare as well, dropping to 12th place amid their concerns about the health of it’s economy and ability of it’s politicians. In addition, U.S. companies face higher startup costs and technology exports are dropping.
Canada received the highest marks in education and came first in social tolerance. Norway, Sweden and Denmark topped the list overall.
