It may seem early but if you want to list your home this spring, you must start preparing now. With the milder winter temps and buyers who couldn’t find a home in the fall (low inventory), I suspect the spring market will come early this year. Here are my top ten tips to get you ready:
1) The most profitable time of the year to sell is typically March through to June. This year, I’m going to suggest that with the mild winter and low inventory, any time starting now, will get you those same profitable results.
2) Plan ahead – avoid surprises and sacrifices by leaving enough time for preparation.
3) Choose the right agent (I recommend myself but if you insist on more information, check out this post.)
4) Prepare your home by following my checklist below.
5) Discuss a selling game plan/schedule with your agent (that would be me, right?) and stick to it.
6) Scope out the competition.
7) Vacate your home while showings are happening for potential buyer privacy.
8) Don’t get emotional .
9) Communication is the key to a successful sale.
10) Be prepared to allow for public open houses to give more exposure to your home.
